A Wildwood woman was arrested with marijuana after a traffic stop in The Villages.
A black Toyota Celica with a broken taillight and inoperable tag light was pulled over at 10:22 p.m. Tuesday on Morse Boulevard, just south of State Road 44, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
When a deputy approached the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was detected.
The driver, 25-year-old Brooke Santilli, who had a passenger traveling with her, denied there was any marijuana in the car.
“The defendant stated they both smoke marijuana in the vehicle on occasion because they do not want to smoke in the house,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report.
The deputy found a pillow on the driver’s seat that concealed a small cellophane bag that contained marijuana.
The Providence, R.I. native was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
