The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding a 42-year-old woman who went missing in The Villages earlier this week.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating 42-year-old Monica Michelle Rhoades, who was last seen in Spanish Springs Town Square last Sunday at about 9 p.m. and was then reported to be in the Village of Bonnybrook.

Monica Michelle Rhoades, pictured above, was last seen in Spanish Springs Town Square in the area of the Rialto Theater last Sunday at about 9 p.m. During the last contact she had with a family member via text message, she said she was with a friend in “Bonnie Brook,” presumably meaning the Village of Bonnybrook in Sumter County.

Anyone with information about Rhoades or her whereabouts is asked to immediately contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at (352) 569-1600.

In March, Rhoades was arrested after leaving a homeless camp in Fruitland Park. At the time, she listed an address on Figuero Street in the Village of Santiago. She attempted to give a Fruitland Park Police officer a false name and also was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, a police report states.

Rhoades also was arrested in June 2018 after failing to show up for court to answer to a drug charge. She originally had been arrested in May at the Lee Motel in Leesburg, a report showed.
