Villager’s adult live-in son arrested along with female companion

Craig McDonald

A Villager’s adult live-in son was back in trouble again after he was arrested along with a female companion.

Craig Alan McDonald, 41, had been driving a white Ford Ranger pickup in the wee hours of May 16 when he was speeding on Lester Drive on the Historic Side of The Villages, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

McDonald, who lives with his mother at 3771 Fenster Lane in the Village of Antrim Dells, was asked for permission to search the pickup. Specifically, McDonald, who has a history of arrests, was asked if he had guns, drugs or alcohol in the vehicle.

“You all always want to search me and I don’t do those things anymore,” he told police.

The Lady Lake Police Department’s K-9 Lux arrived on the scene and alerted on the truck, indicating the likely presence of drugs.

Under the driver’s side seat, an officer found a black zippered-pouch wrapped in a T-shirt. The pouch contained substances determined to be cocaine and methamphetamine.

Rochelle Craig

A female passenger, identified as 44-year-old Rochelle Craig of Fruitland Park, was found to be in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe. Craig previously listed a Village of Antrim Dells address and has a long history of arrests.

Both were taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.

McDonald’s bond was set at $8,000. Craig was jailed without bond due to a probation violation.
