Eddie died with his beloved wife Gwen and his boys by his side. Eddie was born in Chester, Pennsylvania on January 28, 1947 to father Claude Edwin Poole, Jr and mother Dorothy (Dot) Ann Poole (nee Feeley). He was the loving older brother of Patricia (Patty) Nichols. When Eddie was 15 years old he attended St James Catholic High School for Boys. One night in the spring of 1962, he went to a dance at Chichester High School. He (through their mutual friend Jimmy Litteral) asked a beautiful girl named Gwen to dance. They got married 5 years later and they danced together for 54 more years. Eddie worked as a refinery worker doing shift work for Sun Oil for 39 years until he and Gwen retired to The Villages in Florida in 2003, where they lived happily close to Mickey and Minnie for 18 years. In addition to his loving wife Gwen (nee Smith), Eddie is survived by Claude IV (Chip, wife Betty), Jonathan (wife Mary), and Brian (wife Cindi), grandson Russell, and granddaughters Kallasandra and Veronica.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton, Delaware on December 11, 2021 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, if anyone wishes to honor Eddie’s lifelong love of animals, please consider making a donation to the American Humane Society. You can do this through www.americanhumane.org.
