Vehicles on golf cart paths

To the Editor:

Several years ago, my wife and I were exiting the Palmer Legends Golf Course near the Bridgeport Recreation Center, intending to take the tunnel under Buena Vista Boulevard back to the country club. There was a lady standing next to her Honda who discovered that she could not negotiate that tunnel in her car (DUH!!). A couple of Good Samaritans were able to back the car up the tunnel ramp and get her back where she belonged. Whatever happened to common sense? Whether there are “bollards” denying access to the multi-modal paths or not, I fear that there will always be a certain number of idiots out there who do not know or care how to negotiate the streets of The Villages, and how to distinguish between a “street” and a “cart path.”

And that is a shame.
