Ocala woman arrested on drug charge after traffic stop in Summerfield

An Ocala woman was arrested on a drug charge after a traffic stop on Tuesday in Summerfield.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies observed a white Nissan Murano sitting in the driveway of an unoccupied home located at 13985 S. Hwy. 475 while patrolling the area, according to an arrest report. Deputies made contact with the vehicle’s registered owner, 40-year-old Ashley Robyn Fricton of Ocala who was seated in the driver’s seat, and a passenger. Deputies observed the passenger holding a glass pipe in his hand, in which Fricton stated that they were “smoking an oil.”

Upon searching the vehicle, deputies located a small plastic board under the driver’s seat, which had a white powdery substance that field tested positive for heroin. Deputies also found two ziploc bags, one which had a white powdery substance that field tested positive for heroin and another that had Alprazolam pills. Fricton denied that the drugs were hers.

She was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $10,500.
