Ocala elementary student suspended for five days after taking pocketknife to school

An Ocala elementary student has been suspended for five days after taking a pocketknife to school.

The dean of students at Saddlewood Elementary School notified the Marion County Sheriff’s Office that the student on Monday brought the pocketknife to school in his backpack.

The student said his sister had placed it in his backpack the night before and he had not noticed it until he got to school.

His mother was informed the student would be suspended for five days.

The report noted the child is a “good student” and had never been in trouble before.
