Ocala motorcyclist pronounced dead at scene of fiery crash

An Ocala motorcyclist was pronounced dead Thursday night at the scene of a fiery crash in Marion County.

Randall Long, 59, had been riding the motorcycle at 7:25 p.m. on NW 150 Avenue when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and struck a tree, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The motorcycle became engulfed in flames.

Long was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Marion County Fire Rescue.

The report noted he had been wearing a helmet.
