Dorothy M. (Dunn) Crawford

Dorothy M. Crawford, 90, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully November 7, 2018. She was born May 1, 1928 in Lisbon, NY to Homer M. and Gladys Jones Dunn.

Dorothy lived and worked in Heuvelton, NY, alongside her husband, as they owned and operated an insurance business. Additionally, she was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Heuvelton, Past Matron Order of the Eastern Star, school tax collector and Treasurer for BOCES.

She and her husband moved to Florida in 1990 where she became very active in the Hawthorne community including zone captain, Auction Heirs, Concert Series and tour bus and the Hawthorne Memorial Garden. Mrs. Crawford was also a member of Florida Women for Hospice and the Eagles.

Survivors include: her beloved husband of 71 years, Jesse; daughters: Gloria (Jed) Cohen of Orchard Park, NY and Judi (George) Schulz of Marlboro, NJ; grandchildren: Wendy, Molly, Abby, Brett and Jillian; and a sister Mary Johnson. She was preceded in death by three of her siblings.

There are to be no services for Mrs. Crawford at this time but for those who wish, donations may be made in her memory to: Hawthorne Memorial Garden Fund, 100 Hawthorne Blvd, Leesburg, FL 34748.
