AAC OKs $43 million budget with slight uptick in funding due to amenity cap removal

The Amenity Authority Committee on Wednesday approved a $43 million budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year.

That budget, primarily aimed at the upkeep and maintenance of facilities in The Villages north of County Road 466, will be fueled by the anticipated collection of $40.197 million in amenity fees. It is estimated that the collection of amenity fees will go up by $146,766 in the coming year thanks to the elimination of the previous cap on the amenity rate.

Other income includes $622,499 in rental royalties and $1.4 million in fees charged through the Parks and Recreation Department.
