Boyfriend arrested in attack on female employee at American House

Jacob Finazzo

A boyfriend was arrested after allegedly choking a female worker to the point she could not breathe at American House independent living in Wildwood.

Jacob Finazzo, 19, of Wildwood, had been armed with a 10-inch knife when he attacked his girlfriend of four years Saturday afternoon at American House at its location on Rio Grande Boulevard in Wildwood, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

Finazzo entered the rear door of the kitchen where his girlfriend, with whom he shares a child, was working. A verbal altercation began and the kitchen manager intervened and ordered Finazzo to leave. Finazzo re-entered the kitchen and re-ignited the argument. The kitchen manager again ordered Finazzo to leave. He shoved his girlfriend, before leaving, the arrest report said.

He called her on the phone and asked her to step outside and talk to him. Once she was outside, the 6-foot tall Finazzo used both hands to shove her against a wall and began choking her to the point she could not breathe. He released her and she ran back inside the kitchen and law enforcement was summoned.

Police officers spotted Finazzo walking on County Road 466A and found a 10-inch fixed blade knife tucked in his sock.

He was arrested on a felony charge of battery and a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed weapon. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $550.
