Gerald J. Kelly

Gerald J. Kelly, age 86, of The Villages FL, passed away on July 6 2023. Born in Philadelphia 3/20/1937 to Walter and Eleanor Kelly (nee Quinn).

Predeceased by first wife of 46 years Loretta Anne Kelly (nee Estock b. 12/24/32) (married from 4/25/1964 until her death in Jan. 2, 2010), parents Walter and Eleanor and siblings: Walter, Eleanor, Rose, Joseph. Survived by son Gerald J Kelly Jr, grandchildren Liam and Elana Kelly, brother Edward Kelly (Maryanne).

Survived by second wife Christine, stepchildren Mary Jo Staub (Bernard), Jeffrey Pianis (Tammy), step grandson Anthony Pianis.

Gerry served proudly in the Marines along with his brother and was an active member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. His post military career was as a title insurance examiner, and he enjoyed bicycling and ran the Philadelphia marathon. He also enjoyed camping and cross-country skiing with his son. He was a skilled carpenter and very handy with house projects. He enjoyed his retirement in The Villages playing golf and pickleball, dancing and working out at the health club and enjoyed travel.

Visitation will be Monday July 17th from 4-6pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162.

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday July 18th at 8:30am at St. Timothy Catholic Church 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, FL 32159.
