Bruce D. Rohn, age 61 of The Villages, FL passed on Thursday, August 27, 2015 under the care of Hospice at Freedom Pointe Healthcare Center, The Villages, FL. He was the husband of Gwendolyn Rohn. Born in Pontiac, MI he was a son of the late Donald and Betty Rohn. Bruce retired from General Motors and continued working as a consultant for AIT Business Solutions. He taught people in large corporations to think critically and use the principles of Six Sigma and Lean to make their businesses more efficient, many times saving these companies millions of dollars. He loved his work and loved teaching. He worked hard all week long and lived life to the fullest on the weekends. A dedicated family man, he ate dinner with his wife and two daughters every night. He had a great sense of humor and kept in touch with his friends throughout his lifetime. He was highly intelligent, loved Sci Fi, his Harley, riding his bicycle, sailing, golf and skeet shooting. He enjoyed classic rock music and could engineer just about anything. He held numerous patents in the automotive industry. Having relocated many times for his career, Bruce was a master packer. His spirit animal was the Honey Badger and he saw nothing wrong with wearing plaid on plaid. Some of his favorite times were the shenanigans he got into with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Gwen and daughters: Ashley Rohn of Reston, VA and Alexa Rohn of Nashville, TN and sister: Kathy Roush of Rochester Hills, MI and brother: Garth Rohn of Harvard, IL. He was preceded in death by his brother: Larry Rohn and countless friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159. Friends may visit with the family from 1 – 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, his family requests sharing their gratitude for the caregivers who made his final months full of kindness and love by sending donations in Bruce’s name to the Freedom Pointe Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center, Associate Appreciation Fund, 1460 El Camino Real, The Villages, FL 32159.
