Villages Tea Party to join in ‘Defend Freedom’ event at Savannah

The Villages Tea Party has announced it will join in an event Monday when the Concerned Veterans for America’s national “Defend Freedom” bus tour stops in The Villages.

Aileen Milton, president of The Villages Tea Party, said the group will not hold its regular meeting that day and instead members are asked to join in the event which runs from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday.

It will take place at the Savannah Recreation Center in The Villages and will include: a catered dinner, and a film screening of “Come Back America” on the U.S. economy. Topics will include policies regarding veterans and national security.

The event is free and open to the public. The event will feature nationally recognized spokespeople, local heroes, and patriotic residents, said Philip Hegseth, spokesman for the tour.
