Two women arrested in separate incidents at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge

Two women were arrested in separate incidents this past weekend at Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza.

Sandra Kay Davidson, 53, of Belleview, was arrested Saturday night after she took $189.97 in merchandise concealed in her purse, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Davidson left the store and was apprehended at the nearby Peachwave frozen yogurt store, the report indicated. Her purse also contained methamphetamine, heroin and needles. A criminal history check revealed she has six prior theft convictions in Florida ranging from 1988 to 2011. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $9,000 bond.

In the second incident on Sunday afternoon, 58-year-old Janet Pyatte Dowe of Summerfield was arrested on a charge of retail theft after she allegedly attempted to leave the store with $72.11 in store merchandise without paying for it.

She was arrested on a charge of retail theft and booked at the jail. Bond was set at $500.
