The construction of The Villages of Fruitland Park has given a big boost to Lake County’s tax rolls.
The new homes constructed in the former Pine Ridge Dairy area just south of County Road 466A, added $60.8 million in building value to the Lake County’s tax roll with the addition of 409 new homes. This represented 74 percent growth in taxable value in Fruitland Park, according to Lake County Property Appraiser Carey Baker.
“Fruitland Park’s astonishing growth is due to the sheer number of homes in The Villages of Fruitland Park hitting the tax roll in a single year,” Baker said.
In all, The Villages is planning to build 2,055 homes in Fruitland Park. Baker indicated he welcomes the positive impact those new homes will have on Lake County’s tax rolls.
All cities throughout the county are up in value; with cities in the South Lake region including Groveland, Minneola, and Clermont continuing to experience incredible growth, Carey added.
