Law enforcement tracks down Stonecrester suspected of stealing purses at Lake Sumter Landing

A Stonecrester suspected of stealing purses from a store at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square, has been tracked down by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.

Diane Gail Silverman, 71, entered For Feet’s Sake on Canal Street on June 28 and took two purses, according to an arrest report. She reportedly fled the store and got into a waiting vehicle. A store employee got the license plate of the car which turned out to be Silverman’s husband’s vehicle. The employee picked Silverman out of a photo lineup.

She was arrested Thursday and booked at the Sumter County Detention. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
