FHP investigating head-on collision on Micro Racetrack Road

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle head-on collision which occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday on Micro Racetrack Road.

Kart-Aide and Kling Towing personnel happened on the scene ahead of emergency responders. They were directing traffic on the busy thoroughfare to keep things moving.

A shuttle from Signature Coach apparently collided with an SUV with both vehicles sustaining heavy front-end damage.

Both male drivers and a female passenger in the SUV  initially appeared to have escaped serious injury.

Lake EMS and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.

Once-sleepy Micro Racetrack Road has seen heavier and heavier traffic volumes over recent years thanks to the continued growth of The Villages.
