Diane Lynn Pisczek

Diane Lynn (Cunningham) Pisczek, 67, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on August 30, 2018 at Waterman Adventist Hospital. Born June 29, 1951 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of the late Evelyn Cunningham.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bernie, and these children: Michael and daughter-in-law Jaime Pisczek of Leesburg and granddaughters Erika and Ariana; and son Scott and daughter-in-law Brandi Pisczek of Fairfax, Virginia, and grandsons Joseph (JD) and Matthew, along with an extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins in southern Arizona. She was preceded in death by her sister Donna Lee, also of Johnstown.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters’ degree in Education Counseling from Winthrop University. She had dedicated her life to helping abused and neglected children, having served the past 16 years as Executive Director of Lake Sumter Children’s Advocacy Center and the 12 years prior as a Regional Director of Catholic Social Ministries in eastern North Carolina. She has approached her work with the aggressive philosophy, “We can’t change what already happened, but we can change what happens next.”

At her request, no public viewings or visitations are planned.
