A 19-year-old man was jailed after he allegedly bit an EMT Sunday night at Bonefish Grill in The Villages.

The EMTs were called at about 8 p.m. to the restaurant in Southern Trace to a report of a man hyperventilating. When the emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they began to treat Keandre Devon Masoline of Leesburg, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Masoline became combative and paramedics had to restrain him on a stretcher in the ambulance. He then bit one of the paramedics on the forearm, the arrest report indicated.

Masoline was transported to a local hospital where he was evaluated by a physician.

He was then transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was booked on a felony charge of battery. Bond was set at $5,000.
