8-year-old child struck by motorcycle in Marion County

An 8-year-old child was struck by a motorcycle Monday night in Marion County.

Nevaeh Reece of Ocala had been running on a private road at 7:25 p.m. near 6800 NW Gainesville Road when she was struck by a motorcycle being ridden by Austin Brunelle, 19, of Ocala.

Reece ran into the right side of the motorcycle, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Reece was transported to Munroe Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries suffered in the collision.

Brunelle was ticketed for riding without a motorcycle endorsement, the report indicated. He was not injured.
