Armed robber takes cash from X-Mart Adult Supercenter

An armed robber took an undisclosed amount of cash early Thursday morning from the  X-Mart Adult Supercenter in Wildwood.

A store clerk told Sumter County sheriff’s deputies that a black male wearing a black ski-mask and black clothing entered the store on State Road 44 at 2:37 a.m., pointed a firearm in her face and demanded money from the register. He fled with the money.

Sheriff’s K-9 officers responded to the scene and were able to establish a track from the crime scene heading in a northerly direction crossing SR 44. The tracks stopped in a wooded area around County Road 232A.

The armed robber is described as being 20-30 years of age, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches and weighing between 140-180 pounds. The firearm was described as a black in color semi-automatic weapon.
