Charles D. Johnson, a resident of The Villages, FL, since 2004, passed away on May 18, 2017. He was a retired Vice President of, W.A. Phelps and Company, a graduate of Curtis High School, Staten Island, New York, Penn Military Prep, Chester, PA. Port Richmond High School, Staten Island, NY, and Wagner College in Staten Island, NY.

He was in the armored infantry Spec. 4th Class U.S. Army.

He was a great family man who provided with a great deal of love and support in good times and bad. He had a great passion for golf and had his first hole in one this past year. He enjoyed taking rides in his golf cart and sitting on his lanai with a Manhattan. He was very handy and taught his grandsons many life skills.

He was a 29 year cancer survivor and recently was again diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was a courageous fighter through both illnesses. His strength and guidance will always be remembered and he will be missed dearly.

Prior to coming to The Villages, he was a resident of New York and New Jersey.

He was predeceased by his wife Catherine A. Johnson, and his twin sons, Carl and Christopher, and his son Donald. He is survived by his daughters, Catherine E. Johnson, Amy Gonzalez, and four grandsons; Kyle and his wife Courtney, Kevin and his fiancée Stephanie, Ryan, and Matthew, also his beloved cat Gracie.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hiers-Baxley Funeral Service, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the Chapel, 1511 Buenos Aires Boulevard in The Villages.
