Carol Moseman of the Village of Duval had some great Christmas decorations sitting in her attic.
Like so many, the move to The Villages involved some downsizing. And there has been some traveling around the holidays, so there’s been a little less reason to decorate.
So rather than let those decorations remain packed away, she took them Monday morning to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Annex at County Road 466 and Morse Boulevard.
The sheriff’s office is collecting decorations for those families struggling to make ends meet.
Numerous Villagers were arriving at the annex Monday to make similar donations.
Decorations will continue to be collected through Dec. 21.
The sheriff’s office, working with the Villages Bicycle Club, collected 300 bicycles for children this past week.
