Lady Lake man arrested after allegedly pointing gun, demanding Xanax from mother

Joshua Scott Leftwich

A Lady Lake man was arrested after he allegedly went to a home on Gray’s Airport Road and demanded Xanax from his mother.

Joshua Scott Leftwich, 26, drove his pickup to the home where he pointed a gun at his mother’s husband and then demanded Xanax from her, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

When the woman told Leftwich she didn’t have any more Xanax, he allegedly threw a radio at her, knocked her down a staircase and took away her phone so she couldn’t call 911.

He then got back in his truck and cut donuts in the yard.

Deputies went to a place where Leftwich has been staying. He said his mother made up the story.

He was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault as well as charges of depriving of 911 and simple battery.

In 2015, he had been arrested on a charge of battery at the same home on Gray’s Airport Road.
