Letter to the Editor: Does voting matter anymore?

To the Editor:

In November 2014, 4.2 million Floridian voters approved a state constitutional amendment to approve $22 billion over the next 20 years for land and water protection. But in Tallahassee, some legislative leaders want to use the money for programs other than the land protections voters clearly said they wanted when they went to the poles and strongly voted in support of Amendment 1? What has happened to recognizing the voice of the people? Don’t our wishes, our votes matter any more?
