Three Community Development Districts won’t be raising maintenance assessment fees

Villagers living in Community Development District 5, 6 and 8 will not see increases in their maintenance assessment fees next year.

Supervisors in CDDs 5, 6 and 8 gave preliminary approval Friday to their tentative budgets for the approaching fiscal year.

The operating budgets for CDDs 5 and 6 will top $3 million while the CDD 8 budget will be $2.7 million.

Budget Director Barbara Kays said all three districts are in excellent financial shape.

The budgets will be up for formal adoption at public hearings in September.

“This is one of the smoothest budgets we’ve had,” said CDD 5 Chairman Walter Martin.

“This is good news for retirees who are on fixed incomes.”
