Wisconsin man killed in Hamilton County after walking into traffic

A Wisconsin man was killed in Hamilton County after walking into traffic Saturday evening.

Charles Burton, 46, of New Glarus, Wisconsin, parked his vehicle on the northbound side of State Road 93 and attempted to cross the southbound lanes of traffic, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. For unknown reasons, Burton crossed the roadway and into the direct path of a vehicle, causing Burton to be thrown into the center lane into the direct path of other vehicles, the report stated. Three more vehicles subsequently hit Burton.

Charges are pending.
