Golf Division announces change in plan to introduce larger golf holes

Feedback from Villagers has prompted the Villages Golf Division to alter its plan to offer six-inch golf holes at El Santiago and Turtle Mound golf courses.

Rather than have both the regular and six-inch holes available, the golf division has selected four days in the month of June, where they will offer only the six-nch hole, on one course for that day only.

Tee times for these courses may be made up to seven days in advance by calling the tee time office (750-4558). Consequently, only those that wish to try this new concept will do so.

“We again want to assure everyone the intent is not to replace the regulation hole, simply to offer a fun and unique option to our golf program. After the trial, we will evaluate its success and determine if and how this can be implemented into our golf program,” the golf division said.

Here is the schedule:

  • Monday, June 2  – El Santiago
  • Thursday, June 12  – Turtle Mound
  • Friday, June 20 – Turtle Mound
  • Thursday, June 26  – El Santiago
