Jeanne Banville, 74, owner of Spunky Ladies/Travelers, LLC, of The Villages died January 30, 2015 with her family at her side. Born in Central Falls, RI, she and her husband Raymond moved to The Villages in 1997. She is survived by Raymond, their sons Michael and Marc, and their spouses, Sean and Meta, respectively. In addition, she has many family and friends in New England, Florida, Chicago and California. Jeanne was a devoted wife and mother and a dear friend to many in The Villages and nearby communities. She was part of The Village’s Rhode Island Club, serving on its board for a number of years, and was active in the garden, food and photography clubs as well as Red Sox Nation and the Valle Verde Association. She loved dancing, painting and experimenting with new recipes. Jeanne’s passion for the past 25+ years however was travel. She graduated from the Travel School of America in Boston, MA and held numerous certifications from the Dale Carnegie Institute and several boards of tourism, such as Australia and Scotland. She enjoyed creating a community of friends and engaging travel adventures for her Spunky Ladies and their companions to places near and far. Her favorite trip of all was her 70th birthday trip visiting the lavender fields of northwestern Washington.
A gathering to celebrate Jeanne’s life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Lady Lake. (Please wear something lavender!) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jeanne’s honor to either Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162, http://cshospice.org/ or a charity of your choice.
