A City Fire waiter was arrested with drugs after he was spotted driving with an inoperable headlight at 1:42 a.m. Wednesday.

Adam O’Neill Jenkins, 22, of Belleview, had been driving near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Stone Castle Loop when he was pulled over by a Lady Lake police officer. In addition to the non-functioning headlight, he also had an inoperable taglight.

Jenkins appeared “nervous and hesitant” when speaking with a police officer, according to the arrest report. A K-9 alerted on his vehicle, indicating the presence of drugs. Jenkins removed two Newport brand cigarette packs from his pockets and an officer saw protruding from one of the packs a bag containing a substance later determined to be cocaine. A search of the vehicle turned up marijuana and a pipe used for smoking marijuana.

Jenkins was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $4,000 bond.

According to the arrest report, Jenkins works as a waiter at City Fire in Lake Sumter Landing.
