47-year-old woman arrested in attack on 20-year-old inmate at Marion County Jail

A 47-year-old woman was arrested after an attack on a 20-year-old inmate Monday at the Marion County Jail.

Aladria Day admitted to detention officials that she had pulled the younger inmate’s hair, claiming the younger woman had verbally harassed her. Day said she did not believe that pulling hair was against the law, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Day offered that this was not her first fight and a she said previous fight had occurred because she was being harassed.

The younger inmate said she had previously been housed with  Day and does not feel safe around her. Other inmates said Day is very “unpredictable.”

Day is facing a charge of battery on a detainee.
