William ‘Bill’ Jones

William “Bill” Jones, age 75, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017. Bill was born in Washington, DC on February 24, 1942. He served in the US Army after high school. After his military service Bill moved to Florida along with his wife Birthe whom he married in Denmark during his military service. Bill worked in many industries as a Computer Programmer. His hobbies included fishing, boating, tennis and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jones of The Villages, FL; son Jeff Jones of Weston, FL; step son Anthony Smallwood and his wife Amber; and step daughter Tracey Katsouros and her husband Pete of Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Lee Jones and three brothers Herb, Ken and David.

A visitation will take place at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL 32159 on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 5 – 7 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.
