Oak Meadows woman sentenced to jail time in theft case

Jessica Ambros

An Oak Meadows woman has been sentenced to jail time in a theft case.

Jessica Lydia Ambros, 28, of 716 Oak Lane, this week in Lake County Court was sentenced to 30 days in jail on a charge of grand theft. She will receive credit for 17 days already served in jail. She must also pay $418 in court costs, $210 for the cost of the investigation, $550 for a public defender fee and $150 for the cost of prosecution.

She was arrested in July in the theft of video games and Nintendo switch controllers at Target at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages. Oak Meadows is located directly behind Rolling Acres Plaza.

She entered the store and was observed by store personnel as she put the items into her purse, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The Target employee immediately recognized Ambros, as she had been previously suspected of committing thefts at the store, the report said.

Oak Meadows is located directly behind Target.

The items allegedly stolen on Monday were valued at $314.73.
