Armed bandits sought after robbery attempt at Villages country club

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in apprehending two armed bandits who attempted to rob a Villages country club early Thursday morning.

The suspects entered the Mallory Hill Country Club shortly after midnight and threatened two staff members at gunpoint. The thieves demanded money but weren’t successful in the robbery attempt and then fled the scene, a sheriff’s office report states.
