Man arrested after allegedly biting woman, damaging hotel room in Wildwood

Jacquavius Deon Williams

A man was arrested after allegedly biting a woman and damaging a hotel room in Wildwood.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to a “physical disturbance” shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday at the Days Inn on State Road 44. A  woman said she heard her “a commotion” in her cousin’s room. She went to check and saw her cousin fighting with 20-year-old Jacquavius Deon Williams of Oxford. The woman removed a 1-year-old child from the room and called police.

The victim, who was “physically upset” and appeared to have been crying, said she has been in a sexual relationship for several months with Williams. They had been smoking marijuana in the hotel room when they began to argue because Williams asked the woman to drive him to the home of his “other girlfriend,” the arrest report said. The woman had been bit on the wrist and burned on the finger. Williams had also broken a lamp and a phone in the room.

Williams told deputies he bit the woman after she punched him.

Williams was arrested on charges of battery and criminal mischief with damage to property. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $600 bond.
