Two people were arrested after they allegedly loaded appliances into the bed of a pickup truck at Lowe’s home improvement store in Lady Lake early Wednesday morning and hit the road.

At about 3:30 a.m., a Lowe’s employee spotted a man and a woman loading the appliances into the truck’s bed at a storage area directly behind the store. They also loaded a table onto the truck, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop, the driver of the truck, 45-year-old Daryl Shane Williams of Ocala, admitted to a deputy his driver’s license is suspended.

He told the deputy he believed the appliances were scrap and he was planning to resell them.

Riding in the truck with Williams was 38-year-old Nicole Lea Buetti of Summerfield. She admitted they had taken the items and she had turned off the truck’s lights so they would not be seen.

Later at the Sumter County Detention Center, Buetti tried to conceal a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine.

Both were arrested on felony charges of grand theft. Williams was also charged with driving while license suspended. Buetti was also charged with smuggling contraband into a detention facility. Her bond was set at $4,000. Williams’ bond was also set at $4,000.
