Sumter County Sheriff’s Office investigating woman’s suspicious death

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a woman’s suspicious death.

At 11:18 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a white female, who appeared to be deceased, laying in the middle of the road on County Road 231 in Wildwood.

Upon deputies arrival, they determined the woman died from suspicious circumstances, and began investigating this as a homicide. At this time the identity of the woman is not being released as next of kin have not been notified. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 352-793-2621 or to remain anonymous Crimeline at 1- 800-423-TIPS (8477).
