Barbara H. Foshay

Barbara H. Foshay, 79, of Leesburg, Florida, died peacefully on June 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born July 25, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Barbara received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Smith College in 1959. She was a Deaf Educator at the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph, Mass. and traveled some of the world before she retired as a Travel Consultant. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing golf with her friends at Royal Highlands.

She is predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Mary Laing Hambro and her sister, Elizabeth “Bette” Burnes. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert S. Foshay and their daughter, Ellen Foshay-Fleming and her husband, Russell Fleming of Rome, Georgia; three step-grandchildren and one great grandson.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee or The Learning Center for the Deaf, Framingham, Massachusetts. A Celebration of her Life will occur at the Monarch Golf Club, Leesburg, in the afternoon of July 22, 2017.
