Man visiting parents in The Villages wins autographed guitar at Kansas concert at The Sharon

There are more than 115,000 Villagers – but there’s only one family who has a son that is the proud owner of an Epiphone acoustic guitar personally signed by all seven members of the world-renowned rock & roll band Kansas.

Gary Anthony, from Kodiak, Alaska, had joined his parents for the band’s Saturday’s evening concert at the Sharon, and had purchased the winning raffle ticket sponsored by Villagers for Veterans.  The organization raised approximately $2,500 that will support its charitable efforts benefiting disabled veterans.

“I am very excited,” said Anthony, especially since I’m a drummer and collect guitars!”

During one number honoring a specially-designated section of Arlington National Ceremony, wheelchair-bound Marine Sergeant Kevin St. Amant was on stage representing all veterans.

The raffle drawing and presentation were made following the group’s two-hour, 15 minute-long performance.  At each concert, Kansas donates a guitar to a local charity that assists veterans.

Marine Sergeant Kevin St. Amant and raffle winner Gary Anthony are surrounded by organization volunteers Tim Milton, Mary Hockett, Aileen Milton, Jan Bonnie and Patti Bonnie.
