Mother arrested after attempting to get her children back from man

A mother was arrested after attempting to get her children back from a man on Thursday in Ocala.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to the MCSO parking lot in reference to a disturbance, according to an incident report.  Upon arrival, deputies made contact with 29-year-old Gracemari Morales Amaro of Ocala who advised she followed the victim to the sheriff’s office to get her children from him. She advised she “shoved” the victim because she was angry and wanted her children back. Deputies spoke with the victim who stated that Amaro struck him several times during an argument about their children.

A deputy saw Amaro striking the victim on the arm.

Amaro was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.
