Community Improvement Council seeking new members north of County Road 466

Village residents interested in giving back to and learning more about their community, and want to help preserve the safety and quality of life in The Villages are encouraged to consider becoming a member of The Villages Community Improvement Council. Applicants are being sought from residents living north of County Road 466.

This 33-year old non-profit, non-dues organization of volunteers is committed to maintaining and improving The Villages lifestyle by serving as a liaison between residents and the Villages Community Development Districts, the Developer, and government groups, bringing resident suggestions for improvements to the attention of appropriate departments. Two of CIC’s most recent major contribution to The Villages are providing wheelchairs at the Regional Recreation Centers, at each of the three town squares, and at several neighborhood recreation centers and offering Safety Flashers to make residents more visible when walking around their neighborhood at night time. To learn more about CIC’s activities, refer to CIC’s website – https://www.villagescic.org/.

Applicants must be a full time resident of The Villages. Other requirements include availability to attend monthly meetings, serve on a committee, be computer literate, and attend either a VHA New Resident night or a Market Square event representing CIC.

Applications are available online at https://www.villagescic.org/ under the “Contact Us” menu and can be completed online. If you have any questions or would like more information, email David Carey, president at dcarey@villagescic.org or Janet Schmidt, Secretary at jschmidt@villagescic.org
