Central Florida League Summer 2018 Highlights Week Four

Week Four of the Central Florida League’s summer season saw two teams win and move in to a tie for first place.

American Portfolio Mortgage’s Team Koller defeated Synergy Wealth 12-9.

Team Koller scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back. Bob Holbert led off with a home run and Bill Reed and Mark Goodwin stroked triples and scored on a sacrifice fly by Don Melcher and a single by manager Jim Joseph. Jim Joseph and Bob Holbert had three hits each and Rocky Spottswood, Bob Buchanan, Mark Goodwin, George Kennedy, and sub, Ed Joseph stroked a pair of hits each in the win. Synergy got home runs from both Bob Kelly and Jim White. White also smacked a double and a triple to lead Synergy. Ray Bedford, Herb Lauer, and sub, Paul Justice each had a pair of hits in the loss.

IHOP handed Fross & Fross it’s second loss of the season 12-2.

Manny Sanchez led off the first inning with a home run. He also had a pair of sacrifice flies to drive in three runs. Art Anton had a team best four hits and Don Mulneix and Rick Duemler added three hits each. Duemler had a two run homer in IHOP’s four run seventh inning. Fross got two hits from Pat Kirk and John Reedy. Fross didn’t score until the bottom of the seventh when Cal Driskill drove in John Barracato and John Kushner with a bases loaded single.

Palm Ridge Dental overcame a five run first inning by Gators Brownwood to win their contest 10-7.

The Dental team got three hits from: Craig Dahlquist, Jack Nagle, and, Bob Jacques. Adding a pair of hits were: Ron LeBeuf, Ed Krisha, Mark Isom, Jim Morton, and Dan Kincaid. Gators’ Pat Perkins had three hits including a homer in the sixth to lead his team. Adding two hits each were: Chuck Bowman, Bud Sheerin, and sub, Chick Cicatelli. Palm RIdge Dental and IHOP took over first place as a result of their wins.
