FHP investigates two-car collision at Morse Boulevard and State Road 44

Two drivers were transported by ambulance from the scene of a collision Wednesday afternoon at Morse Boulevard and State Road 44.

Reinaldo Soto, 43, of Bushnell, had been at the wheel of a 2007 four-door Honda Accord at about 4:30 p.m. traveling westbound on State Road 44 when the left-turn light was flashing “caution,” according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He pulled into the path of a white 2008 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 29-year-old Franklin Norman of Eustis. He had been eastbound on State Road 44 and had a green light.

Norman was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center. Soto was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

Soto was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
