Dog park by Rio Grande pool

To the Editor:

I am in the Villages six months of the year and doggy-sit for other peoples dogs – the dog park at Rio Grande is something I use every day if I am doggie sitting. Many times neighbors have verbally abused me because I am walking a dog near their home even though I am on “public” land and not theirs. The dog park is a safe, sociable and obviously dog friendly place to be and there are already so few of them in the villages. Please keep at least a part of it for dog lovers and lonely people who find friendship and company there.
