PWAC signs off on amenity budget with more money for Community Watch

The Project Wide Advisory Committee on Thursday approved a $72.46 million amenity budget which includes more money for Community Watch.

PWAC, which includes representation from Community Development Districts 5 through 11, as well as the Brownwood Community Development District, signed off on the 2019-2020 budget, which includes $4.86 million for Community Watch.

PWAC budgeted $4.2 million for Community Watch in 2018-2019 and $3.95 million in 2017-2018.

Budget Director Barbara Kays said the Community Watch budget is rising in part because of increased responsibilities in Community Development District 12, including gates and patrols.

The Amenity Authority Committee’s portion of the Community Watch budget will be $2.46 million for 2019-2020. The ACC represents residents north of County Road 466.

The PWAC budget also includes $250,000 for a roof replacement at Colony Cottage Recreation Center in 2020.
