Hardee’s employee sentenced in theft of $27,925 in night deposits

Stephanie Adams

A former Wildwood Hardee’s employee has been sentenced after stealing $27,925 in night deposits.

Stephanie Lee Adams, 40, of Bushnell, was arrested in December after taking 13 deposits over three months from the restaurant at 404 S. Main St., according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The deposits should have been deposited at the Bank of America. Adams quit her job at Hardee’s in October.

When Adams was interviewed by a Wildwood police detective, she said she took the money to pay her bills. She was arrested on a felony charge of grand theft.

Last week in Sumter County Court, Adams pleaded no contest in the case. She has been placed on probation for five years.
