Canceled my Daily Sun subscription over offensive ad

To the Editor:

I just canceled my subscription to The Daily Sun because of an abhorrent ad that they did not have to run.

This ad appeared in the Daily Sun.

I consider myself a moderate, voting, in my opinion, for the best candidate to represent me regardless of their political affiliation. The Daily Sun, however, is biased to the right, which is apparent when you read their guest editorials and their political cartoons. I did like the paper for the good things they publish, however, the quarter-page ad (page A-7) they published in the 10/8/20 issue was misleading offensive, divisive, racist, and above all untrue.
The Sun, supposedly representing “The Friendliest Hometown,” I believe, does not represent the attitude of our residents, no matter what their political beliefs are. My friends and neighbors are good, kind people and should reject this trash the Sun just published.  Newspapers are not regulated by the FCC and have the option to reject ads that are considered offensive. Obviously, they did not consider this ad offensive, but, rather in line with their views. This ad should give us, both Jew, Christian, other denominations, Democrat and Republican, an idea of how biased and intolerant the management of this paper is.
As an American, who is Jewish, I realize that this ad was created by a radical Jewish group, and does not reflect the beliefs of the great majority of the American Jewish population and is one of the most anti-Semitic ads (besides those of the hate groups) I have the displeasure of seeing.  Our American population, unfortunately, has a small minority of extremist, intolerant, and hateful groups that do not represent them.
As Americans, and especially Villagers, we are better than this and I implore you to reject this kind of hateful ad. Call 352-753-1119. At best, you can do what I did and cancel your subscription.
