A Lady Lake Police Department K-9 alerted on a pickup leaving a known drug house, leading to the arrest of a man and a woman traveling in the vehicle.

Brandon Shawn Martinez, 28, of Summerfield, was driving the truck early Wednesday morning when it was pulled over at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Lake Ella Road, according to an arrest report. The driver had failed to stop at a stop sign when leaving the Skyline neighborhood, home to a “known drug house,” the report said.

The K-9 named Lux gave a positive alert on the pickup, indicating the likely presence of drugs. Martinez was found to be in possession of small amounts of marijuana and methamphetamine.

A passenger, Emily Marlene Krauthamer, 20, of Lady Lake, had a Naloxone prescription strip tucked in her bra and was also in possession of Buprenorphine. She also had a syringe loaded with methamphetamine.

Both were taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail. Martinez was released after posting $2,500 bond. Krauthamer was being held on $3,500 bond.
