A man described as “despondent” shot himself in Lady Lake on Monday afternoon.
The suicide attempt took place on Shenandoah Avenue.
The man survived the shooting and was transported from the Lady Lake Little League field on Guava Street by UF Shands Lifeflight helicopter.
The man was transported by ambulance to the Little League field which was used as a landing zone for the helicopter.
